LiveAvatar Interactive Augmented Reality Experience at SIGGRAPH
Overview
One of the most innovative immersive AR installations INDE has developed was featured at the annual production design and new technologies conference, held that year in Vancouver, BC.
The plug-and-play character-control system puts a remote live performer into the skin of 3D-animated extra-terrestrial, S.E.A.N., a brash and bawdy “visitor to Earth,” who appeared right beside—and maybe even line-dancing with—awed conference-goers on a large-screen for an experience that was out-of-this-world.
User Experience
This gamified AR environment allows users to freely engage a fully interactive augmented reality character, voiced and controlled by an actor in real time. Powered by award-winning BroadcastAR, suitable for any screen size or format, LiveAvatar utilises speech and gesture control to offer a 100% live interaction between the AR character and the audience. The program connects seamlessly to the SnapShare module, creating brandable photo and video, shareable online and social media.
