Warner Bros promotes Pokémon: Detective Pikachu with 10 AR photo booths across the United States

Warner Bros will celebrate the release of "Pokémon: Detective Pikachu", their first live-action / animated film in the franchise with a unique AR experience that will be deployed in 10 AMC theaters across the United States in May 2019. The next-generation photo booth offers moviegoers in New York, Boston, Washington, Miami, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver and Los Angeles a unique photo opportunity with the protagonist of the movie that they can share online instantly.

Warner Bros partnered with UK Augmented Reality company INDE in late 2018 to promote their upcoming movie. Powered by their award-winning BroadcastAR Augmented Reality software, the HeroMirror lets the entertainment company engage and entertain its audience in an entirely new way. The kiosk-sized AR experience debuted at ComicCon Brasil, and later appeared at 7-Eleven's annual convention and CinemaCon as well.

Xava Fragoso, INDE's CDO said: "There’s something magical about meeting your heroes. With HeroMirror we offer the opportunity to our customers to entertain their visitors with our AR characters and having an everlasting memory. It has a user-friendly footprint, is designed to generate revenue, and has a flexible platform where original IP can be integrated."

As an increasing number of institutions and companies in education and entertainment are looking at innovative ways to provide unforgettable experiences to their audiences, AR has become one of the most sought-after technologies today, due to its ability to engage, educate and entertain in an entirely new way.
