Perot Museum Brings Dinosaurs to Life Using INDE’s Augmented Reality Platform

INDE’s large-screen Augmented Reality experience will support the Perot Museum of Nature and Science’s “Dino Fest” event. Dino Fest is a two day celebration of all things dinosaur.

The AR installation is part of the museum’s immersive learning push, and is aimed at creating dynamic exhibits and transforming education by implementing some of the latest technologies. It will be bringing some of the most fascinating extinct creatures closer to visitors than ever before.

INDE’s ”Back to the Jurassic” AR experience features an animated 3D T-Rex, a gigantic diplodocus and other well-known species from the Jurassic. As they step in front of the AR screen, visitors will be immersed in the world of dinosaurs where they can walk with these mysterious giants.

“AR is an incredibly powerful tool to help people understand and learn about any topic – long gone animals, events and pretty much anything that can be visually shown –, placing them right in front of the viewers, giving them an immediate real-life perspective,” said Norbert Kovacs, INDE’s Chief Technology Officer.

Alex Poulson, INDE’s CEO added: “When we realised the power of Augmented Reality back in 2010 there was still a huge distance to travel to allow an app-free experience everyone could enjoy. BroadcastAR was built to bridge that gap and allow a collective experience without any action on part of the visitor.”
