Mammoths, Dinosaurs and Giant Scorpions Roam the Earth in Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality company INDE brings an incredible range of extinct creatures, dangerous and rare species, and other wild animals to life in a fascinatingly realistic mixture of real-world and digital elements, allowing people to observe, interact, learn and have fun in an entirely new way.
Since the 2011 launch of their first large-screen AR experience created for National Geographic, UK-based, multi-award winning INDE has turned hundreds of spaces – including museums, zoos, theme parks, shopping malls and various live event locations – into unique immersive worlds, in some of the largest cities and tiniest places across the planet.
A Columbian mammoth and her calf approaching visitors near an actual mammoth skeleton displayed at the Florida Museum of Natural History, a T-Rex and other creatures from the Jurassic roaming around at the park entrance at Hangzhou Songcheng Park in China, viewers placed up against a giant scorpion at VR Park in Dubai, and some fascinating creatures from Africa to the Arctic brought to life at Amoreiras Shopping Center in Portugal – those are just some of the most recent examples of INDE’s BroadcastAR transforming physical spaces into dynamic, immersive and interactive environments around the world. As a next-generation edutainment platform, BroadcastAR revolutionises the way people of all ages interact with content – by sparking their imagination, allowing them to touch the untouchable, explore the distant, and learn about nature, history and more.
“In-context, digital information spatially placed in the real environment, digital resurrection of long gone animals, events and pretty much anything that can be visually shown. AR is an incredibly powerful tool to help people understand and learn about those topics. It places these topics right in front of the viewers, giving them an immediate real-life perspective and bringing those topics closer for an immersive experience”, said Norbert Kovacs, INDE’s Chief Technology Officer.
As an increasing number of institutions and companies in entertainment and education are looking at innovative ways to provide unforgettable experiences to their audiences, Augmented Reality has become one of the most sought-after technologies today, due to its ability to engage, educate and entertain in an entirely new and unique way.
