INDE's HeroMirror AR Experience "Immortalises" Elvis at Graceland

INDE has deployed four HeroMirror photo booths in Graceland that allow visitors to have a personalised encounter with Elvis Presley - the King of Rock and Roll.
Elvis Week 2020 marks the 43rd anniversary of Elvis Presley's passing, and Graceland - his former residence, currently the second most-visited house in the U.S after the White House - has been prepared for the gathering of fans and friends all over the world. This year they have introduced several state-of-art, immersive experiences including four AR-powered kiosks.
After the fans trigger the HeroMirror, they have to pick whether they want to meet Elvis as a rockstar or an actor. If they pick his musical career, they can take a short personality quiz to see if they will be matched with the 50s, 60s or 70s Elvis. If they choose him as an actor, they would also be prompted to answer a few questions to find out which one of Elvis' big-screen characters resonates the best with them. At the end of each experience, they get their personalised result - and a unique photo that they can immediately download or share with their loved ones.
INDE faced a new challenge in this project - working with archive video. After a careful consultant with Graceland team, it was decided to go down this (complex) route rather hiring a lookalike and recording them in a green-screen environment, which the team hoped would make the experience more authentic. “Unlike our previous projects where we had full control of the content production, this project made us pull every trick available out of our hat. The result is a combination of amazing enhancing technologies for the footage combined with a carefully crafted rotoscope process to bring the best experience possible for the fans.” - told Xava Fragoso, INDE's CDO.
INDE is no stranger at immortalising athletes, cartoon characters, historical figures or even endangered species, but "resurrecting" Elvis definitely marks an important milestone! “This is more evidence that there’s no substitute for practical experience in our industry. In high profile projects -such as seeing how “digital Elvis” might resurrect the King - its vital be able to offer an end-to-end workflow that captures the vision of our customers. We’re happy that they’re happy.” - commented Alex Alanson, COO of INDE.
