INDE Celebrates 200th Augmented Reality Installation Worldwide

One of the first projects for UK-based INDE – formerly a digital agency called Appshaker – was developing a large-screen AR experience for National Geographic in 2011. Since then, INDE has become a fully integrated Augmented Reality product developer, with more than 200 mobile, kiosk and big-screen AR systems deployed worldwide. Its client roster includes for The Smithsonian Institution, The BBC, NBC Universal, 20th Century Fox, WWF and numerous others.
Under the banner of Experience Engineering, INDE has been building interactive and immersive experiences using cutting-edge technologies – mainly Augmented Reality, Computer Vision and Motion Capture. These provide a unique opportunity to create next-generation platforms that fundamentally change how people consume digital content, interact with the world, and each other.
“AR represents a sea change in how we will consume digital content going forward. We are now in the transition from the broadcast/consumption of content from 2D to a three dimensional space. AR offers a unique path towards integrating digital data into the real world to create the next computing platform. Fully integrated augmented on glass style devices will be the replacement for the mobile phone in less than 10 years,” said Alex Poulson, INDE’s CEO.
In the coming years, INDE aims to transition its knowledge, 3D content, intellectual property and worldwide client base to the mainstream adoption of AR and MR wearable glass devices in entertainment and education.
