LiveAvatar and BroadcastAR Augmented Reality Experiences at W5 Discovery Center in Belfast, Ireland
Overview
W5, an award-winning Interactive Discovery Centre in Belfast, has added a live-controlled Augmented Reality system called LiveAvatar, featuring SEAN the alien and other 3D characters, to their existing dinosaur-themed BroadcastAR experience. Both systems were developed and installed by our team.
Experience
The award-winning interactive discovery center in Ireland brought INDE back twice to work our magic with cutting-edge augmented reality technology. After the success of our famed dinosaur-themed AR experience, “Back to the Jurassic”—featuring an expansive AR experience that put users alongside a diplodocus, a pack of raptors, and a T-Rex—W5 asked INDE to also install our mind-bending LiveAvatar program.
Starring animated extraterrestrial visitor, S.E.A.N., LiveAvatar is a reality-bending twist on our award-winning BroadcastAR, allowing users to appear on a large fromat screen with the animated alien—or any number of characters—in an awe-inspiring totally interactive experience in vivid augmented reality, all operated by an actor using live gesture and speech control. That means they get to meet, chat, dance, and pose with out-of-this-world 3D animated characters in real time.
