The Eras of Elvis
HeroMirror Augmented Reality Experience at Graceland: The Home of Elvis Presley for “Virtual Elvis” Exhibit
Overview
This installation features four of INDE’s flagship HeroMirrors, each offering Graceland visitors the opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime photo-op with one of six different possible “versions” of the King, himself—each from a key era of his music or film career—chosen based on a fun and unique personality quiz. INDE developed the experience using fully-rendered, live-action Elvis characters rotoscoped from archive footage to bring this one-of-a-kind fan experience to life.
Elvis Week 2020 marks the 43rd anniversary of Elvis Presley's passing, and Graceland - his former residence, currently the second most-visited house in the U.S after the White House - has been prepared for the gathering of fans and friends all over the world. This year they have introduced several state-of-art, immersive experiences including four AR-powered kiosks.
User Experience
Visitors to the Graceland “Virtual Elvis” Exhibit swipe a purchasable ticket under the HeroMirror unit QR scanner to initiate the “Era of Elvis” experience. Using its easy touchscreen interface users follow simple prompts to participate in a five-question “quiz” to determine “their Elvis.” A short countdown and on-screen animation direct the user where to pose for the photo, at which point, Elvis appears! Users are prompted to input their email address for sharing.
The subsequent photo and video was captured by the HeroMirror camera, and is instantly sharable to the user’s email address within seconds.
Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Champion Dean Z was really impressed by our Eras of Elvis HeroMirror experience, that matched him with 50s Elvis after a short personality quiz.
